SUITS, FROM CHALK STRIPES
TO BIRDSEYE

You know the feeling of wearing a really good suit. Our suits are supple, Super 140’s with rolled lapels. The collar sits smoothly, and the shoulder is a delicate ‘spalla camicia Napoletana’: a hand-crafted shoulder with pleats. The true signature of a skilled tailor.

Take the birdseye, which is as light as a feather, or the Prince of Wales, which is a dandyish check on a double-breasted jacket, or the chalk-striped flannel 3-piece: whichever one you choose, they all share a passion for detail. So, gentlemen, no more belts but side tabs instead, button flies instead of zippers, and cashmere every day!

COATS, SINGLE- AND
DOUBLE-BREASTED CHESTERFIELDS

The 6th Earl of Chesterfield detested the formal, fitted tailcoats worn by his nineteenth century contemporaries. This is why this comfortable coat was named after the Earl, and is available in both single-breasted and double-breasted models. Made with loving attention to detail, it employs an ingenious mixture of materials: pure wool and refined cashmere for the fabric, and hemp for firmness.

Our Chesterfield is finished with real horn buttons, a velvet collar, ‘butterfly lining’, and a full-canvas construction. This is tremendously stylish outerwear, which is made to be handed to the doorman when you arrive...

JORT SHIRTS

It’s always spring when you’re wearing a good shirt, especially in Egypt. That is where Gossypium Barbadense grows and thrives on the banks of the Nile. This is the plant that produces those famously long and soft cotton fibres that we use for our excellent Giza 45 cotton shirts.

Well-cut shirts are comprised of several cuts, with the shoulder placement and attachment of the forearm to the cuff being particularly important. Skilled shirt makers pull together the fabric slightly in these sections for that ever-so-important handmade touch, resulting in their small pleats. But our shirt also has other traditional tailoring details, like very finely stitched seams (9 stitches per cm) and handmade button holes.

Who could manage without a blazer? Like many other textile traditions, the blazer originated in a military and royal context, when in 1837 the crew of HMS Blazer welcomed the Queen aboard whilst wearing short and blue jackets. Since then, the blazer has largely outgrown its former naval uses, finding itself in practically every wardrobe, able to go with anything.

There are two models of our blazer, both of which are half-lined. First the real classic: navy blue in velvety cashmere wool with hand-sewn pleated shoulders, a ‘floating’ full-canvas interior and, of course, horn buttons. Additionally, it comes in hand-woven, indestructible and instantly recognisable Harris Tweed.

TROUSERS, FROM FLANNEL
TO MOLESKIN

Moleskin is the country favourite of all pampered Brits who are fanatical about rusty Land Rovers, muddy Wellingtons, and blanket-thick tweeds; perfect and elegant for the mountains, but equally as suitable for wintry days in the urban jungle. It feels like soft chamois leather to the touch, and insulates like Styrofoam.

People who want to be just as prepared for the winter, but want to combine something smarter than grey trousers without running the risk of looking boring in the slightest, can go for a fabric as soft as butter: flannel. Note the refined details such as the fly with 6 hand-sewn horn buttons, side tabs instead of belt loops, and even buttoned cuffs so you can remove any dirt that ends up in the turn-up.
